Chatham Fish Pier

The Chatham Fish Pier is a constant source of interest to our summer visitors where there's always a small crowd gathered on the visitors deck. Walk the Chatham fish pier. Their catch consists of haddock, cod, flounder, lobster, pollock, dogfish and halibut. Not only does the pier offer a great view of Chatham's harbor and outer beach with the Atlantic beyond, but when the fishing boats unload their catch, both children and adults get a fascinating glimpse of the Cape's best-known industry. The Chatham fish pier is a working pier with observation deck provides great views of fishermen and Chatham's active fishing fleet in action.

The Chatham Lighthouse

Cruise along South Beach and the northern tip on Monomoy Island and see the Chatham Lighthouse and USCG Station Chatham by water, just south of the Chatham fish pier. Probably the most famous tourist attraction in town, with a weather-wracked history that never gets old.

The current single Chatham lighthouse was built in 1877. Some 5,000 tourists visit the Chatham Lighthouse each year, taking in the Atlantic "South Beach" overlook, which gives fascinating views of the Cape Cod National Seashore, historic fishing camps, ever shifting sandbars and beach, rolling surf, and the fishing fleet coming and going "through the break" in the sand bars, caused by a 1987 storm.

Visit the Chatham fish pier and the Chatham Lighthouse on your next trip to Cape Cod.

Chatham Lighthouse Beach sits below the watchful gaze of Chatham Light, an active lighthouse at the Coast Guard Station that aids in the navigation of Chatham Waters. Lighthouse Beach is the largest beach in town. Only half a mile from downtown, this beautiful expanse of sand offers nature walks out to southern Monomoy Island plus views of the daily migration routes of Chatham's many seals and fishing boats.
